Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 369

Faced with Lucas's probing, Peyton could only force a professional smile. "Mr. Montgomery, we'll all find out what Ms. Miller's instructions are once the meeting begins."

Hitting a soft wall, Lucas frowned slightly in annoyance. "I was just curious. You won't even give us a hint?"

Peyton pressed her lips together and didn't reply. It wasn't that she didn't want to tell him; it was because she was completely in the dark herself and had absolutely no answers.

Just as the room fell into a tense silence, the double doors of the conference room were pushed open from the outside.

General Manager Lyle Foster walked in first, and right behind him was a sophisticated, arrogant-looking woman whom no one recognized.

Under the bewildered gazes of everyone present, the unfamiliar woman walked straight to the head of the long table and unapologetically sat down in Meredith's chair.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Peyton shot up from her seat, her hands planted on the table, her face displaying pure shock.

The surrounding shareholders exchanged confused glances, the room breaking out into murmurs. That seat was the absolute symbol of power at Lumina Jewelry. Who besides Meredith had the right to sit there?

Facing the crowd's skepticism, the woman leaned back comfortably in her chair, her voice clear and dripping with arrogance. "Let me introduce myself first. My name is Mavis Miller, and I am Meredith's biological sister. From today onward, I will be stepping in to take full control of Lumina Jewelry."

The announcement sent shockwaves through the room, and the conference erupted into chaos.

"That's absolutely impossible!" Peyton retorted sharply, her voice trembling with anger. "Lumina Jewelry was built from the ground up by Ms. Miller! She poured her blood, sweat, and tears into getting it where it is today! She would never just hand her life's work over to someone else over a few empty words!"

Mavis glanced sideways, her cold eyes locking onto Peyton with a condescending glare. "You're my sister's secretary, Peyton Quinn, aren't you?"

"Yes!"
