Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 370

As the video ended and the screen went dark, Mavis stood up, a confident smile playing on her lips. "As you can all see, I am sitting here carrying out my sister's explicit instructions. To ensure I don't let her down, I will give this company everything I have."

"Well, since this is Ms. Miller's wish, we naturally welcome you with open arms!"

"Why are we still calling her Ms. Miller? We should be calling her the new Boss! Haha, with the new CEO being the legitimate heiress of the Miller family and having the massive backing of The Miller Group, Lumina is guaranteed to skyrocket!"

The atmosphere in the conference room shifted instantly. Several of the more opportunistic shareholders couldn't wait to start kissing up to her.

"Peyton, something isn't right," Lucas leaned in close, lowering his voice with a deep frown. "I clearly remember Ms. Miller swearing up and down that Lumina Jewelry would forever remain independent and never rely on any family backing."

"Exactly." Peyton nodded, looking at him with mild surprise. "Mr. Montgomery, I'm surprised you remembered her words so clearly."

Lucas coughed awkwardly, offering a bitter smile. "I don't mind admitting it—I used to have a massive crush on her. But she's incredibly dense when it comes to romance, so I eventually backed off. Still, old habits die hard, so I always paid close attention to what she said and did. Her reaction in that video... it looked way too stiff."

Peyton raised an eyebrow, swallowing her surprise, and bit her lip. "Even if we think it's suspicious, the video is right there. And her returning to the Miller family is a known fact. How can we argue against that?"

"Why don't you just call her right now?" Lucas suggested quietly.

Peyton gripped her phone tight, a flicker of hesitation flashing in her eyes.

Before Meredith went overseas, she had specifically warned Peyton that Master Padraig absolutely despised outside interruptions during his lessons. Unless it was a life-or-death emergency, Peyton wasn't supposed to initiate contact. Over the past few weeks, Meredith had always been the one to call her.

But given the current crisis, she couldn't afford to hesitate anymore.

Just as her thumb hovered over the call button, a sharp, icy gaze swept over her.

"Ms. Quinn, who are you calling?" Mavis looked down at her with intense arrogance. "Personal calls are strictly prohibited during board meetings. That's company policy."
