Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 371

The words hung in the air, final and absolute. Peyton Quinn lowered her gaze in defeat, her voice raspy. "I understand."

"Are there any other objections?" Mavis Miller scanned the room with a satisfied smirk, the corners of her lips curling higher. "Since there are none, I will now announce the restructuring plan for Lumina Jewelry."

The word 'restructuring' sent a chill through the shareholders.

A new boss always brought changes, but no one expected Mavis to bypass the transition period entirely and start slashing away. If her gamble paid off, the company would soar; if it failed, everyone's investments would go down with the ship.

Ignoring the uneasy murmurs, Mavis held up a manicured finger. "First, effective immediately, Lumina Jewelry will fully merge into the Miller Group. Moving forward, the Miller Group's professional management team will take over all core operations."

"Second," she held up another finger, "to ensure a smooth transition, the Miller Group will purchase one percent of the shares from everyone in this room at a substantial premium above market value."

"Third," Mavis's cold gaze locked onto Peyton, "effective immediately, Peyton Quinn is relieved of her duties as Vice Manager and Chief Secretary. Her future placement will be decided after the restructuring is complete."

The three directives dropped like a bomb, throwing the boardroom into chaos.

Merging into the Miller Group, diluting their shares, and purging the founding executives—this wasn't a restructuring. It was a hostile takeover. She wanted to erase the Lumina brand completely and brand it with the Miller name.

Peyton's face drained of color. If she had held onto any hope that Mavis was genuinely here to help manage the company, it vanished instantly. Her vicious ambition was now on full display.

"I absolutely refuse!" Peyton slammed her hands onto the table, her eyes red with fury as she glared at the woman at the head of the table. "Which of these three decisions is actually for the good of Lumina? You just want to swallow the company whole and turn it into the Miller family's private property!"

Facing her rage, Mavis merely let out a theatrical sigh. "Peyton, you're being too extreme. Lumina is my sister's life's work, after all. She only left in a fit of pique over a minor family disagreement. Now that we've cleared the air, she's returning to the family and bringing her business with her. Is that so wrong?"

She paused, adopting a patronizing tone. "With the massive capital and network of the Miller Group backing it, Lumina's future will be incredibly bright. Of course, being suddenly relieved of your duties is hard to swallow. But rest assured, once the merger is complete, I'll find a 'suitable' position for you."

Peyton clenched her fists so hard her knuckles turned white, trembling with rage. The tragic part was that she couldn't find a single word to refute her.

Lumina belonged to Meredith Miller. Since the founder herself had surrendered control over the phone, what could a mere executive employee do but watch the company be devoured?

Seeing Peyton fall silent, Mavis shot a look at Lyle Foster.
