"Phoenix, don't push it!" Warren's face flushed red as he was struck where it hurt the most. He ground his teeth, lowering his voice into a furious hiss. "You've already turned the Prescott family upside down! Are you not going to stop until every last one of us is dead?!"

"Dead?" Phoenix raised a slender finger, waving it lightly. "If I truly wanted you dead, there wouldn't even be a sign left on the Prescott estate. You brought this ruin upon yourselves."

She suddenly changed her tune, her voice lightening up. "But hey, if you want to shamelessly crash the party, be my guest. At least you'll provide some entertainment for everyone else."

A few suppressed chuckles rippled through the surrounding guests.

Warren's face cycled through shades of pale and red. His fists clenched tightly at his sides, but he forced himself to swallow his fury.

He knew exactly where he stood. If he dared cause a scene on Draco Enterprises' turf, Phoenix would undoubtedly have security toss him out like yesterday's trash.

Just as the tension hit its peak, Phoenix struck without warning. Her hand darted out like a viper, her fingers stiffened into a blade, aiming ruthlessly straight for Barrett's throat.

A sharp gust of wind hit Barrett's face, his pupils shrinking in terror.
