Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 54

"Lawrence, get the car."

Phoenix issued the order without breaking her stride as she exited the dining room.

But after taking just a few steps, she paused and looked back at Lawrence, who was standing there with an awkward expression.

"Problem?"

Lawrence broke out in a cold sweat, bowing slightly. "Ms. Prescott, currently the estate only has two designated drivers available... One is Mr. Prescott's personal driver, and the other belongs to Phoebe."

Phoenix narrowed her eyes, suddenly flashing a sharp smirk. "Interesting."

With that, she turned and walked straight out the front doors.

Outside, a sleek Maybach was already idling in the driveway.

Lewis, the driver, was eagerly wiping down the exterior, doing everything in his power to ensure his master had an absolutely immaculate riding experience.

Phoebe had handpicked him specifically for his blatant sycophancy, appointing him as her exclusive chauffeur.

At that moment, Phoenix walked straight up, pulled the car door open, and prepared to step inside.

Lewis lunged forward, physically blocking the door as he said sternly, "Ms. Prescott, my apologies, but this car... is strictly for Phoebe's use."

He spoke with righteous indignation, looking exactly like a loyal attack dog defending its master's territory.

Phoenix crossed her arms and stared at Lewis with chilling apathy.

Her icy gaze radiated a predatory danger that made Lewis's stomach tighten in panic.

He had heard rumors from the other staff that the eldest daughter's temperament had completely flipped since she returned, even going so far as to assault Mr. Prescott. Initially, he assumed the staff were exaggerating, but now... it didn't seem exaggerated at all.

The sheer pressure rolling off her was genuinely terrifying.

But remembering that he was Phoebe's personal driver, Lewis puffed out his chest and said in a heavy tone, "Ms. Prescott, please don't make this difficult for me."

"First," Phoenix held up a single finger. "Figure out exactly who your boss is."

"Second," she took a step forward, her eyes darkening. "Know your place. You are nothing but a hired driver for the Prescott family. Who gave you the audacity to refuse your own employer?"

Lewis's pupils contracted, panic setting into his chest.

But out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Phoebe walking out of the manor, and his bravado instantly returned.

"My boss is Phoebe. My authority comes from her."

"Lawrence."

Hearing his name, Lawrence practically sprinted over. "Ms. Prescott, what are your orders?"

"Fire him," Phoenix stated, her tone leaving absolutely no room for debate. "The Prescott family does not employ useless trash who can't even recognize their own masters."

"This..."

"You forgot again. The Prescott family... has no second daughter." Phoenix narrowed her eyes, her piercing glare sending a shockwave of terror straight through the driver's heart.

Phoebe was so thoroughly stunned by Phoenix's terrifying aura that she entirely forgot how to speak.

"Lawrence, throw him out!"

"Yes, Ms. Prescott."

Lawrence took a deep breath. He clearly understood... the hierarchy of power in this house had completely shifted.

Even though Warren was the patriarch on paper, Phoenix's aggressive return—coupled with the old man's absolute backing—meant that even Warren had zero control over her.

He knew that if he wanted to survive in this estate, he... had to stand on Phoenix's side.

"Lewis, after you."

Lawrence gestured firmly toward the exit.

"Phoenix, you can't force Lewis to leave," Phoebe cried, her eyes turning red with manufactured grievance. "Lewis has driven me for years, and I'm used to his driving rhythm. Without him, I'll easily get carsick."

"Carsick?" Phoenix turned around, staring at Phoebe with sheer amusement. "If you get carsick, then don't take a car. Walk. It's incredibly eco-friendly."

"Phoenix..."

Phoenix suddenly spun around, shot a hand out, and choked Phoebe, slamming her violently against the side of the car.
