"Phoebe, do you have any idea what happens to people like you in prison?"
Her gaze was like a viper's, her voice as biting as the dead of winter. "Their mouths get torn open, and they get thrown straight into the cesspit... If you keep parading this pathetic, hypocritical act in front of me, I... wouldn't mind giving you a free trial run."
Hearing this, Phoebe was so terrified she began trembling uncontrollably.
This woman was entirely different from the girl she knew four years ago.
Right now, she was an absolute demon!!
Seeing Phoebe turn pale with fright, Phoenix scoffed in disgust and casually tossed her to the ground.
"Lawrence, go arrange another driver."
Lawrence hesitated for a brief second; that meant calling upon Mr. Prescott's personal chauffeur.
But his hesitation lasted only a moment before he bowed respectfully and retreated.
Shortly after, Harrison pulled the car around and respectfully opened the door for Phoenix.
Phoenix smirked slightly and climbed inside.
Watching Phoenix's car speed off into the distance, Phoebe's eyes flashed with venomous hatred, a monstrous wave of resentment churning violently in her chest.
"Phoebe, what happened?" Warren asked as he stepped out of the house, immediately rushing over to help Phoebe up from the driveway.
"Dad, I'm sorry," Phoebe sobbed, her tears spilling over instantly. "It's all my fault. I made her angry again. Just because she knew Lewis was my driver, she fired him in a fit of rage."
"What?!" Warren's eyes widened in sheer fury. "That ungrateful bitch!! She thinks just because the old man is backing her, she can do whatever the hell she wants."
"Dad, maybe I shouldn't stay here anymore." Phoebe buried her face in Warren's chest, her eyes overflowing with tears. "If I just leave, maybe she'll stop, and this family can finally be at peace?"
"Phoebe, don't cry!!" Warren gently patted her back, soothing her. "That little monster won't last long. Right now, she's just riding high on the old man's favor and her engagement to Mr. Sterling. That's the only reason she's acting so arrogant."
"Once she joins Prescott Group and fails to accomplish a single thing, she'll become nothing more than a laughingstock."
Phoebe narrowed her eyes slightly, a flash of utter ruthlessness passing through them. "But... the five percent shares you gave me..."
"Hmph, she can't take them."
Hearing Warren say that, Phoebe let out a massive sigh of relief.
Five percent of Prescott Group was worth billions of dollars. What right did an ex-convict country bumpkin have to sit on billions of dollars in assets?
"Lawrence!" Warren shouted.
"Yes, sir?" Lawrence bowed slightly as he approached.
"Go tell Harrison to bring the car around. Phoebe and I are heading to the office."
The car slowly pulled to a stop.
"Ms. Prescott, we have arrived," Harrison said respectfully.
Phoenix put away her phone and pushed the door open, but just as she was about to step out, she glanced back at Harrison.
"You drive smoothly. I like it. From now on, you are my personal driver. Got it?"
It was a notification, not a request.
Harrison paused for a fraction of a second before nodding. "Yes, Ms. Prescott. From this moment on, I work exclusively for you."
Phoenix's lips curled up into a faint smile.
She enjoyed dealing with smart people.
Harrison watched Phoenix's retreating figure, his eyes burning with intensity. Both he and Lawrence were veterans of the Prescott family; they had both served under Alistair in the past.
When Warren took over as the patriarch, he was reassigned as Warren's driver.
Having served a man as powerful as Alistair, Harrison had seen his fair share of titans. He could instantly recognize the extraordinary aura radiating off Phoenix.
The future of the Prescott family might just be changing hands very soon.
