Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 56

The moment Phoenix stepped into the Prescott Group lobby, she instantly felt several pairs of eyes lock onto her.

She was dressed simply but impeccably, her outfit radiating a sophisticated elegance. Her long, wavy hair only amplified her commanding boss aura, leaving everyone in the lobby assuming some highly important VIP had just arrived.

"Excuse me, Miss, do you have an appointment?" the receptionist, Lily, asked politely.

Phoenix pulled off her sunglasses, offering a faint smile. "Phoenix Prescott."

"Ms. Prescott?" Lily was momentarily taken aback before smiling professionally. "Ms. Prescott, our company operates strictly on an appointment basis. All external guests must book in advance."

Phoenix arched a brow. She had assumed that dropping her name would grant her unimpeded access.

It seemed Warren and Julian had deliberately failed to notify the company about her sudden appointment.

Were they trying to haze her at the front door?

Ridiculous.

Phoenix pulled out her phone, found Julian's contact, and dialed the number.

At that moment, Julian was in the middle of a meeting.

Seeing an unknown number flash on his screen, he rejected the call without a second thought.

But mere seconds later, the number called again.

Julian frowned. Worried it might be an urgent business call, he raised a hand to pause the meeting.

"Hello?"

"Julian, get your ass down to the lobby."

Hearing the sheer disrespect, Julian's temper flared, but as his brain registered the voice... realization struck him like a physical blow.

...Phoenix?!

"Phoenix, what the hell are you playing at?" Julian hissed, forcefully suppressing the urge to scream profanities. "I'm in a meeting. I don't have time for your games."

"Your biological sister is here for her first day at the office. As her brother, shouldn't you come down and show her the ropes?" Phoenix scoffed. "Or do you no longer care about the Legacy District and Westside development projects?"

Julian's expression twisted violently, his grip tightening around his phone. "Give me five minutes."

"One minute!"

"You—!"

Before Julian could snap back, Phoenix ended the call.

Phoenix offered a brief nod to the receptionist, slipped her sunglasses back on, and took a seat on one of the plush lounge sofas.

Lily was utterly bewildered. Did this gorgeous woman really just call Mr. Julian?

No, she had to have misheard.

Mr. Julian was the Executive Vice President of Prescott Group, a man of immense power. No one would ever dare speak to him like that.

The surrounding employees stared at Julian in absolute shock, their eyes filled with intense curiosity and disbelief. The overwhelming attention made Julian incredibly uncomfortable.

"Come with me."

Forcing his anger down, Julian led Phoenix to the executive elevator, leaving a lobby full of dumbfounded employees in their wake.

Inside the elevator, Julian managed to regulate his breathing, speaking in a low, threatening tone. "Phoenix, since you're officially entering Prescott Group, you... are going to follow the rules here."

"Don't think that just because the old man backs you, you can do whatever the hell you want. There are several powerful board directors watching this company, and even the old man has to show them respect..."

"Are you done?"

Phoenix casually adjusted her sunglasses, her tone completely deadpan. "If you're done, take me to process my onboarding."

Julian squeezed his fists, fighting the burning desire to punch her in the face. But every time he faced Phoenix, he felt an overwhelming, suffocating pressure pushing him down.

It was absolutely infuriating.

Years ago, Phoenix wouldn't have even dared to make eye contact with him.

Who could have predicted that after she got out of prison, their entire power dynamic would completely flip?

The two of them arrived at the HR department.

"Mr. Julian, you're here!" Felix Fletcher practically sprinted over the moment he spotted Julian.

But when his eyes shifted to the woman standing next to him, they lit up with sheer, unadulterated lust. Was this the newly released Prescott heiress?
