Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 62

With its magnificent environment and ultimate service, Aqueous Wellness Club was a frequent haunt for many dignitaries and socialites.

Phoenix lay on a plush sofa, enjoying gourmet food and drinks while receiving a professional massage. Her expression was relaxed and languid.

Only Felix, standing nearby, squirmed in his seat, consumed by a suffocating wave of anxiety. He had no time to enjoy the momentary comfort.

When Julian had called earlier, Phoenix had merely given a cold 'not available' before hanging up on him.

Good lord, that was Julian Prescott, the true power behind Prescott Group!

Felix's heart hammered in his chest. For Julian to call personally meant the situation was dire, but... this absolute menace of a woman just hung up on him.

Buzz—

Phoenix's phone vibrated again.

She didn't even need to look to know it was Julian calling back.

She raised a hand, signaling the masseuse to stop, and slowly picked up the phone to answer.

"Phoenix, have you completely lost your mind?!" Julian's furious roar practically burst through the receiver.

Phoenix frowned in disgust, pulling the phone away from her ear. Her voice was icy. "Julian, call back when you learn how to speak properly."

Before he could reply, she hung up again.

Felix's eyes widened in sheer disbelief. This woman's arrogance knew no bounds! That was the second time she had hung up on Julian!

"Ms. Prescott..." Felix couldn't help but hunch over and lean in, his voice laced with sycophancy. "Julian's back-to-back calls mean things are definitely on fire. Do you think... maybe you should call him back?"

"What's the rush?" Phoenix scoffed. She settled back comfortably, signaling the masseuse to continue. "I told you, I'll make him beg me to take the Project Manager position."

Felix tightened his brow, deeply worried. "But what if..."

The door to the private room was shoved open, and Julian stormed in, his face dark with fury.

"Everyone out!" he ordered sharply, waving away the staff. His eyes locked onto Phoenix, who was still lounging comfortably on the sofa. Rage boiled in his chest.

"Mr. Julian!" Felix jolted upright in terror, but instinctively glanced at Phoenix first, keeping his body rooted to the spot.

That subtle signal of betrayal didn't escape Julian's notice. The anger threatened to consume him. He had ordered Felix to make things difficult for Phoenix, and instead, this idiot brought her here to enjoy a spa day?!

I'm dead! His glare is going to kill me! Felix groaned internally, but his ass remained firmly glued to the sofa as he waited for Phoenix's reaction.

"Well, Julian, what brings you here?" Phoenix sat up, a playful smirk dancing on her lips. "This is a nice place, want to experience it for yourself?"

"Phoenix, are you done playing games?" Julian took a few steps forward, towering over her in an attempt to intimidate her. "The representatives are waiting for you at the company! Now, immediately, come back with me and sign the contracts!"

Phoenix leisurely picked up a grape from the fruit platter and popped it into her mouth. She chewed slowly before speaking in a relaxed drawl. "But Julian, these two projects... didn't you plan on handing them over to Phoebe so she could take the credit? If you call me back now... then the credit becomes mine."
