Julian was completely stunned.
Macy's ruthless maneuver had caught him entirely off guard.
Demanding Leo Vance come over for a confrontation? Was she trying to make his humiliating secrets public knowledge?
Back then, he had been beaten to a pulp by Leo's men and extorted out of millions of dollars.
If word got out, how could he ever show his face again?
Quentin glanced at Macy, the corners of his lips turning up slightly. Pierce had definitely overthought things.
Phoenix's backing was incredibly formidable.
Even if Pierce hadn't sent him on this trip today, the Prescott family wouldn't have been able to take advantage of her.
He couldn't help but wonder how this eldest daughter of the Prescott family had managed to win Pierce over and secure such powerful allies.
Macy tapped the table, issuing a final warning to Warren and Julian.
"I'm giving you half an hour. If I don't see Phoenix, the deal is off."
Quentin adjusted his glasses, seamlessly backing Macy up. "My stance is the same as Ms. Monroe's. If she isn't here, the project is canceled."
"Right, we understand!"
Warren and Julian hurriedly left the reception room.
Returning to the CEO's office, Julian yanked at his tie in frustration and viciously kicked over a nearby trash can.
"Julian, Dad, what happened? Did... Ms. Monroe and Director Quentin refuse to show you any respect?" Phoebe asked timidly.
Julian glanced at Phoebe. Afraid of scaring her, he forcefully suppressed his temper. "I don't know what kind of spell Phoenix cast on them, but they're insisting she be the one to manage the projects."
"How could that be? They didn't even show you any respect. That's so arrogant," Phoebe gasped, covering her mouth. "Did Phoenix purposely bring them here to humiliate you both?"
Hearing this, Warren and Julian exchanged a dark look, agreeing with Phoebe's assessment.
"Phoenix, that wretched girl. She completely disregarded the company's interests for her own selfish desires!" Warren spat through gritted teeth. "Does she really think that leaning on those two... will force us to submit?"
"Dad, The Legacy District Project and the West City core development project are too crucial for the growth of Prescott Group."
"Our company's growth has been sluggish over the years, and the old man is already displeased with us. If we lose these two projects, I'm afraid..."
Julian's concerns were entirely well-founded.
Warren knew very well that if they secured these projects, he and Julian would earn Alistair's trust, and the true power of the Prescott family would finally be handed over to them.
"We stall!"
Warren narrowed his eyes, his voice turning somber. "We can drag this out. When the old man demands answers, we'll push all the blame onto Phoenix."
With that, Terrence stormed out.
Warren watched Terrence's retreating figure, entirely unable to control his surging emotions.
"Who was it?! Who leaked the news to Terrence?!"
"Dad, what do we do now?" Julian frowned deeply, anxiety lacing his voice. "That old fox always keeps his word. If Alistair finds out about what we're doing..."
Their grip on power would be violently stripped away.
"Go! Get Phoenix here to handle the projects." Warren practically roared, completely unwilling to concede. He hated the feeling of being manipulated, especially by his own biological daughter.
Julian immediately pulled out his phone and dialed Phoenix's number.
The call connected.
"Phoenix, get over here right now. You need to manage these two projects."
His tone was commanding, leaving no room for argument.
But her response consisted of just two cold words.
"Not available!"
