"Mr. Sterling! My apologies for not greeting you at the door," Warren scrambled forward, his face stretched into a sycophantic grin.

The moment Phoebe laid eyes on Pierce, her heart hammered wildly in her chest. His presence was overwhelmingly powerful, and he was breathtakingly handsome.

Broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and perfectly tailored in an expensive suit, he commanded a king-like authority that no other man in Cloudhaven could ever hope to match.

Unable to resist, Phoebe secretly snapped a photo and sent it to her group chat with her socialite friends.

Her friends, all wealthy heiresses, immediately blew up the chat when they saw the photo of Pierce.

Phoebe, isn't that Pierce Sterling? Why is he at your house?

Brimming with pride, Phoebe typed back.

"He's here to propose."

But Pierce frowned and took a step back. Just as he was about to speak, Phoenix's voice cut through the room.

"Dad, Mom, are you really going to make him stand in the foyer to talk business?"

Warren and Vanessa glared at her, panic flaring in their eyes. How dare this wretched girl interrupt, and worse, call them 'Dad' and 'Mom' right now!

Seeing this, Warren ground his teeth. "I'll give you another million..."

"Not enough!" Phoenix pouted dismissively. "If you manage to latch onto the Sterling family, your net worth will skyrocket. That kind of leverage is worth way more than a million."

"Ten million." Warren's eyes were slits, his heart bleeding as he offered the number. "That's all the liquid cash I have left. Do not push me."

"A hundred million."

Phoenix dropped the massive number without batting an eye.

Hearing that figure, Warren nearly choked on his own breath. "Phoenix, you're being far too greedy! Don't forget, I am your father!! Extorting your own father will bring down the wrath of heaven."

"Oh? Well, since I am your daughter, that means I can be the one to marry Mr. Sterling, right?"
