As Emma drifted in a drug-induced haze, she vaguely made out Pamela sitting beside her. She instantly jolted awake.

She tried to sit up, but Pamela gently pressed her back down. "Rest a little longer. Are you thirsty? Do you want some water?"

"Pamela, what happened to me?"

Emma looked bewildered. Now that she was awake, she genuinely had no memory of the incident.

She only vaguely recalled feeling incredibly dizzy.

"You passed out and fell into the pool."

Pamela poured her a glass of water. Emma took it, taking a small sip. "I think I remember Carter being at the door."

"Yes, Raymond needed to speak with him. He should be back shortly."

Seeing her finish the water, Pamela asked with deep concern, "Does anything else hurt?"

"No, I'm fine. Thank you, Pamela."

Pamela breathed a sigh of relief, then frowned deeply. "I don't know who would be so incredibly bold as to attack you on Harrington territory."

"Wasn't it an accident?" Just as Emma asked, Carter walked back into the room.

He looked at Emma with a strange expression but didn't say a word.

"How could you just randomly pass out? It certainly wasn't an accident," Pamela declared with absolute certainty, soothingly taking Emma's hand again. "Don't worry. I will make sure Raymond investigates this thoroughly. It's completely outrageous."

"Okay. Thank you, Pamela."

Emma replied graciously. Pamela finally stood up. "Since Carter is back, I'll take my leave. Get some proper rest."

"I will."

Emma watched Pamela leave, then shot Chase a look, signaling him to guard the door.

The lounge door clicked shut. Carter walked over to the bed. "Are you hurting anywhere? Do you remember anything before you passed out?"

"Nothing really happened. I just suddenly felt extremely dizzy. If I had to point to something wrong... aside from the water Percy gave me, I didn't touch a single thing. But my symptoms don't match ingesting ether."

Emma's gaze darkened. She suddenly turned her back to him and began unbuttoning her blouse.

She sat there in only her bra, her back facing Carter. His face instantly flushed crimson, and he quickly turned his head away like a gentleman.
