Seated on the bed, staring out of the window was Alina in a cold, dark room lit by moonlight that was sometimes obscured by dark angry snow clouds. Her lovely features were illuminated by the moonlight, which grew darker as the clouds veiled the moon. A tiny smile appeared on her lips as this incident was clearly reflected in her silver wolf–like eyes.
The door opened. Her personal handmaid entered, bowing her head. But before she could say anything…
“Bring her in and make sure no one interrupts us.”
There was not even a hint of surprise on the maid’s face. Without another word, she left the room.
A minute later, the door opened revealing Ophelia who walked in slowly. The moment the door closed, fire shot up through all of the fire torches in the room, brightening it magnificently.
It was a room befitting a queen.
“You are here.” Alina smiled even more without turning to face Ophelia, who stood beside the door with a dull expression. “Willingly.”
“If you always know what will happen, why don’t you involve yourself?” Ophelia questioned with a breathless and heavy voice.
Alina’s smile faded. “You are always direct.”
“Can Nikolai be kept from succumbing to the blood pearl’s control?” Ophelia questioned, her expression perfectly capturing the urgency and desperation in her voice.

“You must depart from Celestia in order to save Nikolai.” Alina responded
right away.
Ophelia froze, not anticipating such a response.
“The war will lessen if you return home.”
“What exactly are you saying? I can not leave knowing…”
“There is no saving Nikolai. Return to your home. Whatever befalls Celestia is none of your business.” Alina stated in a commanding manner. A deep frown came upon her face. She was highly irritated by Ophelia’s stubbornness.
Ophelia scoffed in disbelief. “I cannot leave my husband.”
Alina rose up and turned to face Ophelia, her frown deepening. “What do you think will happen if you die?!”
“What do you think will happen if he dies?! I will destroy all of Celestia if
he dies! If he dies, I will ensure that wolf shifters become extinct.”
Her words caused Alina’s eyes to widen with shock. “How obnoxious!”
“You can say whatever you want, but I will not give up on him. Better that he lives and I die.” Ophelia snarled, clutching her fist.
Alina shook her head and took a deep breath. “This is unbelievable. Why is fate so cruel to you two?”
Ophelia cocked an eyebrow at those words. “What?”
Alina sighed. “Your past lives broke the order that guards the existence of existence. The gods are making your current lives suffer the
consequences by being apart. However, the same fate is making you two interconnected in so many ways.” She explained.
Ophelia couldn’t believe her ears. Past lives? Current lives? Order? Fate?!

She frowned deeply. “Does this explain the gods‘ involvement?”
“You two are the reason the gods are at war with each other. On the other hand, the supreme master sun god and the moon goddess are doing everything in their power to keep you two safe. It is the reason Vladimir was born. He is the bridge, and he is more powerful than I am.” Alina continued, sitting back on her bed and looking at Ophelia more calmly than before.
Ophelia was taken aback. It was not surprising to learn that an oracle knew so much about celestial worlds. “Does.. Nikolai knows Vladimir..?”
“He does.” Alina responded with a faint smile on her lips. “The world is kept in balance by order. But the gods started constructing the order to suit their own needs, resulting in an unsteady equilibrium that they are determined to preserve. The mortals who are aware of this are taking advantage of it for themselves.”
“Tiana… Esteban.” Ophelia muttered, her eyes glimmering with intense
resentment.
“You declared your intention to destroy fate.” Alina abruptly uttered, her voice calm.
Ophelia nodded decisively. “I did.”
“Return home, and you will save Nikolai.” Alina spoke sharply and stood up once more. “Nothing can alter what is about to happen. There are things that can and cannot be changed!”
Ophelia’s eyes hardened. “Is that the reason you chose not to shield Nikolai from Tiana? I mean, you really do know a lot? You ought to be aware that your son was manipulated, tortured, and murdered.”
It was unbelievable to her that even after telling her everything, Alina would still want her to leave Nikolai. She knew deep down that Alina was

telling the truth. But Nikolai had forbidden her from seeing his mother for
a reason.
Her words infuriated Alina. “What do you know?!!” She screamed in rage. “My son! My son is the embodiment of pure evil, born to destroy! What could I possibly do?!”
Ophelia stared in disbelief. “What could you possibly do?” How… What
