The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 191

Chapter One Hundred Ninety One

“Ravenna…”

The name slipped from Thorne’s lips before he even understood why. He stood in darkness. Not the familiar darkness of night. Not the shadows he commanded. This darkness felt endless. Alive. Heavy enough to press against his chest and make breathing difficult.

He could not see the ground beneath his feet, yet he knew he was standing. He could not see the sky, yet he could feel something above him. Watching. Waiting. Then-

A woman appeared in the distance. Her back was turned toward him. Long hair. A familiar posture. Something inside Thorne pulled violently toward her. His heart recognized her before his mind did.

“Ravenna…”

He whispered her name again. The woman slowly turned. But the face staring back at him was not Ravenna’s. Agatha. Thorne froze.

His mind became confused. Agatha. Yes. Agatha. His beloved. Wasn’t she? Wasn’t Agatha the one he had loved? The one who had been promised to him? The one stolen by the Silver Wolf? Thorne pressed one hand against his head. Pain pulsed behind his eyes.

“Agatha…”

The name felt familiar. But wrong. Why did it feel wrong? He knew Agatha. He remembered her. He remembered growing beside her. Remembered her smile. Remembered their families telling them they would one day belong together. Remembered searching for her after she disappeared. Remembered the letter her parents showed to him.

I found my mate.

My magic accepted him.

And his wolf accepted me.

I love him.

Thorne’s chest tightened violently. Pain consumed him. Betrayal. Humiliation. Loss. He remembered those feelings so clearly that they felt like they belonged to him. But then another thought entered his mind.

Who was Agatha? Thorne’s brows pulled together.

“Who…”

His voice echoed through the darkness.

“Who is Agatha?”

The moment he asked the question, the darkness around him shifted. The dream changed. Suddenly, he stood outside a small cottage. Sunlight poured across a garden filled with herbs and flowers. A woman laughed somewhere nearby. Thorne turned. Agatha sat beneath a tree. Beside her- Lucian. The Silver Wolf. Thorne’s hands curled into fists. A child sat between them. Their child.

Thorne watched the soene with burning hatred.

“How dare they…”

His voice trembled.

“How dare they be happy?”

The family did not hear him. They continued laughing. Lucian kissed Agatha. She leaned against him. Their children surrounded them. Thorne’s heart twisted.

“Why do they get this?”

His breathing became ragged,

“Why are they happy…”

The darkness crept around his feet.

“…while I am alone?”

A whisper answered.

Because they took everything from you.

Thorne turned sharply.

“Who said that?”

No one appeared. Only darkness. Then the whisper came again.

The Silver Wolf took your love.

He took your family.

He took your future.

Rage surged through Thorne.

“Yes.”

The shadows climbed higher around his legs.

“He took everything.”

But then- Another voice reached him. Soft. Faint. Almost impossible to hear.

“My love…”

Thorne stopped breathing. The voice did not come from the darkness. It came from somewhere deeper. Somewhere hidden beneath the memories.

“My love, I am here.”

Thorne looked around wildly.

“Who are you?”

No answer came immediately. Then-

“Our child is here.”

His heart stopped.

“Please…”

The woman’s voice trembled,

“Please return to us.”

Thorne’s breathing became uneven. The voice sounded familiar. Painfully familiar. It carried warmth. Love. A sadness so deep that it reached something inside him the darkness had not managed to destroy.

“Who are you?” he demanded.

The darkness around him thickened. It seemed to move between him and the voice. Blocking it. Smothering it. Thorne pressed forward.

“Who are you?”

The woman answered.

“Please remember us.”

The voice broke.

“Please remember our life together.”

Thorne closed his eyes. Images flickered. A white dress. Laughter beneath moonlight. A woman sleeping beside him. Hands intertwined. Magic moving between two people. A home. A promise. A kiss. Then-A tiny charm resting in a woman’s palm.

Protection magic. For a father. The images vanished before he could understand them. Thorne opened his

eyes.

“Wait.”

His voice cracked.

“Come back.”

Nothing. Then the woman spoke again.

“Please choose us.”

Her voice sounded utterly broken.

“Choose me. Choose our child.”

The words struck him harder than arry weapon. Thorne placed both hands against his head.

“Choose you?”

Why would he need to choose? Between what? Between whom? His heart began pounding.

“Who are you?”

He shouted into the darkness.

“Why would I need to choose?”

No answer. The black mist moved around him. Thicker. More aggressive.

“Who are you?!”

Thome roared.

“Show yourself!”

For one moment- The darkness became still. Then it answered him. Not with words. With pain.
