Chapter One Hundred Ninety Two
The thought settled inside him with terrifying clarity. Diana. The current Silver Wolf. She was the reason the curse had awakened
She was Lucian reborn in another form. Another Silver Wolf meant to steal what belonged to Gideon. No. What belonged to Thorne,
Thorne no longer knew where Gideon ended and he began. The darkness did not allow him to question it. It only fed him pain. Hatred. Memory. Agatha leaving. Lucian holding her. Their child. Their happiness. Their future.
Everything Gideon had lost. Everything Thorne suddenly believed had been stolen from him. He needed to kill the Silver Wolf.
Once she was dead- Agatha would return. Wouldn’t she?
She would see that Gideon had been stronger. That he had always been the right choice. That the wolf had only confused her. That everything could return to the way it should have been.
But wolves would protect the Silver Wolf. They always did. The packs would rally behind her. The Alpha King would protect her.
The Rogue Kingdom had already allied itself with Black Howler. More wolves would come. Then they all needed to die.
Every one of them. The darkness whispered eagerly.
All wolves must fall.
Thorne’s jaw tightened.
“Yes. They will stand beside her.
“Then I will destroy them.”
They will protect her.
“Then they die with her.”
Black magic surrounded him completely. The pain grew stronger. Then- Another whisper. Not from the darkness. From somewhere beyond it.
“Thorne…”
He froze. The name sounded different when spoken by that voice. Tender. Loving. Familiar.
“Thorne, please.”
His hand moved toward his chest. Something hurt. Not Gideon’s pain. Something else. Something his
own.
“Come back to me.”

Ravenna: The name appeared suddenly in his mind. Thorne’s breath caught. Ravenna. He knew that name. Didn’t he? Dark hair. Pale eyes. A laugh. Magic entwining with his.
A woman sleeping against his chest. His fingers running through her hair. A kiss beneath the stars. Someone telling him-
I love you.
Then the darkness slammed into the memories. They shattered.
“No!”
Thorne tried reaching for them. But they disappeared. The dream collapsed. He woke violently. His body jerked upright. Black magic exploded outward from him, throwing several objects across the room. His breathing came in harsh gasps. Sweat covered his skin. His heart hammered painfully against his ribs. For several seconds, he did not know where he was. Then one name left his mouth.
“Ravenna.”
Silence. Thorne sat completely still. Why had he said her name? Ravenna. The White Witch. The traitor. The witch assigned to protect the Silver Wolf.
She had stood against him. She had interfered. She had helped Diana and Talon escape. She had tried to stop him. She had chosen the Silver Wolf. Just like Agatha had chosen Lucian. Thorne’s eyes darkened.
“Ravenna…”
His voice became colder.
“She chose the Silver Wolf too.”
The darkness inside him whispered.
Then she must die.
Thorne’s jaw tightened.
“Yes. She must die as well.”
The moment the thought entered his mind-Pain stabbed through his chest. Thorne gasped. His hand immediately moved over his heart.
“What…”
The pain intensified. He bent forward. Why? Why did the thought of killing Ravenna hurt him? She was only the White Witch. Only the one destined to help the Silver Wolf. An enemy. Nothing more. Wasn’t she?
Then why did something inside him scream at the thought of harming her? Thorne closed his eyes.
“Who are you?”
He whispered the question to no one. Images flashed again. Ravenna smiling. Ravenna reaching for his hand. Ravenna asleep beside him. Ravenna crying in the forest. Then- Her voice.
I am pregnant.

Thorne’s eyes snapped open. His breathing stopped. A child. Her child. His? The darkness immediately surged.
Lies.
Thorne pressed both hands against his temples.
“She lied.”
Decception.
“She is trying to stop me.”
Yes.
“She chose the Silver Wolf.”
Yes.
“She betrayed me.”
The darkness became comforting again. Certain. Familiar. But beneath it- Something resisted. Something small. Weak. Nearly buried.
No.
Thorne’s eyes widened. The voice did not come from the darkness. It came from him. His real memories.
His real heart.
Ravenna had never betrayed him. Had she? He remembered hands touching his face. A woman laughing when he complained about something meaningless. A voice calling him stubborn. Warmth beside him in bed. Two forms of magic reaching toward one another and intertwining naturally. A bond. His bond. Thorne’s breathing became unsteady again.
“Who…”
He whispered.
“Who is she to me?”
The darkness moved restlessly. Thorne stood. His legs nearly gave way beneath him, but he forced himself upright.
“Why does she keep entering my mind?”
He began pacing.
“Why does she keep trying to push the darkness away?”
