The Silver Wolf (Diana and Talon) novel Chapter 84

Chapter Eighty Four

“Damon…”

Diana’s voice cut through the thick tension in the room.

Steady.

Controlled.

But carrying a weight that made everyone still.

“You have Rafe in your pack, right?” she asked.

Her eyes locked onto his.

Unwavering.

“He’s somewhere in your dungeon?”

Damon didn’t answer immediately.

But he didn’t look away either.

And that-

That told Diana everything.

Her expression hardened slightly.

“Rafe got away,” Damon said finally.

His voice low.

Grim.

“The warriors who took him from Crimson Fang’s dungeon…” A pause. “…are dead.”

Silence fell.

Heavy.

Dangerous.

Talon growled.

Low.

Feral.

And then he moved.

In a blink-

He was in front of Damon.

The next

Damon was slammed against the wall.

A loud crack echoed as stone met force.-

Talon’s hand wrapped around Damon’s throat.

Tight.

Unforgiving.

“You stood in my pack…” Talon’s voice was cold.

Deadly.

“For days.” His grip tightened. “And you knew there was a threat.”

Damon’s jaw clenched.

“I didn’t know he would come here,” he forced out.

“You expect me to believe that?” Talon snarled.

“I thought he might try,” Damon admitted.

“But how could he succeed?”

His voice strained under Talon’s hold.

“This is your territory. Your defenses. He would have been spotted miles away.”

“Alpha.” Enzo stepped forward slightly. His gaze locked on Damon.

Dark.

Unforgiving.

“He called Willow his mate earlier.”

The words dropped like a blade.

“He felt Willow’s pain through the bond.”

Enzo’s voice hardened.

“That’s why we reached out to her.”

Talon’s eyes flared. As if he just remembered.

“You knew,” Talon said.

Slow.

Lethal.

Chapter Exper

You knew she was your mate.”

A beat.

“And still…” His grip-tightened again.

“You stood here. In front of my sister.”

His voice cracked with rage.

“And talked about Diana as if she was yours.”

Damon didn’t fight him.

Didn’t struggle.

He just met Talon’s gaze.

And took it.

“Tell me,” Talon growled. “Why shouldn’t I kill you right now?”

Conall stepped forward instinctively-

But froze.

“Stand down, Conall.”

Damon’s voice came out rough.

Restricted.

Then-

“Talon.”

Diana.

“Let him go.”

Talon didn’t move.

Didn’t even blink.

“Let him go,” Diana repeated.

Softer this time.

But firmer.

“What?” Talon snapped, turning to her.

“You heard him.” His voice shook with fury.

“He knew. He knew Willow was his mate. He must have felt it the moment they met. And still—”

Talon gestured toward Damon violently.

“He stood here. Day after day. Talking about you. As if you belonged to him.”

His voice dropped:

Raw.

“Do you have any idea what that did to her?”

Silence.

Damon’s eyes flickered.

Just slightly.

“I understand,” Diana said quietly.

That made Talon look at her sharply.

“But think,” she continued.

“Why didn’t Willow say anything?”

Talon froze.

“Because she knows what’s at stake,” Diana said.

Her voice softened.

But the truth in it cut deeper than any blade.

“She’s thinking about the alliance. She’s thinking about both packs. She’s thinking beyond herself.”

Talon’s grip faltered slightly.

“Do not let her sacrifice be for nothing,” Diana added.

A pause.

“And do not say or do something you will regret later.”

Talon’s chest rose and fell heavily.

Then-

After a long moment-

He released Damon.

Damon dropped slightly, catching himself against the wall.

Breathing hard.

Talon turned away immediately.

Because if he didn’t-

He would kill him.

Consequences be damned.

Diana watched him for a moment,

Then turned.

Toward Damon.

She walked forward.

Slow.

Deliberate.

And without warning-

Together with Artemis strenght, struck him.

The sound echoed.

Sharp.

Loud.

Damon’s head snapped to the side from the force.

His entire body shifting with the impact.

Conall moved instantly-

“Do not move, Beta.”

Diana’s voice stopped him.

Her Luna power surged.

Heavy.

Commanding.

Conall froze mid-step.

Unable to move forward.

Diana didn’t even look at him.

“I asked Talon not to act,” she said.

Her voice calm.

But burning underneath.

Because he is the Alpha.”

She stepped closer to Damon.

“But I am the Luna. Her eyes hardened.

“And I am Willow’s family. I have every right to protect her. To fight for her. To defend her-”

Her voice sharpened.

“-when she cannot defend herself.”

Damon didn’t speak.
