Tonight, Her Love Ended novel Chapter 11

Tristan listened without so much as a frown, turning on his heel and walking right into the study.

He didn't seem to care in the slightest about Nova's feelings, or whether she stayed or left.

Since that was the case, Felipa had nothing more to say. She didn't want to look at Nova anyway!

Watching them all walk away, Nova lowered her eyes, let out a self-deprecating laugh, and went upstairs to pack her bags.

Carrying her luggage out, Nova passed by Tristan's slightly ajar study door and caught sight of another figure—Kieran Pearce, the doctor from Forrester Hospital and Tristan's close friend.

Kieran handed Tristan the medical reports Nova had done over the past few days. Watching Tristan flip through them, he couldn't help but ask, "Are you actually starting to care about the baby she's carrying?"

Tristan casually flipped through the exam results, his tone flat. "Abdul's orders."

Kieran breathed a sigh of relief on Yvette's behalf.

"I knew it. There's no way you'd care about someone like her. She's overestimating her worth if she thinks this baby gives her leverage. But don't worry, I personally review all of her results. Besides, a woman like that would never actually go through with losing the baby. She loves you too much. Losing the kid means completely severing her ties to you. What happens if you divorce her then?"

Tristan read the last page, her most recent checkup.

It included an early gender prediction. While it might not be entirely accurate this early on, it indicated a boy.

"Have her go in for another checkup tomorrow. Afterward, have your people send the report straight to the Forrester Estate for Abdul, and another copy to Greenhill Abbey for Belinda. No need to bring them to me."

Nova didn't stay to listen to the rest. She gripped her suitcase and walked away.

Because Tristan couldn't care less, the doctors at Forrester Hospital had been cutting corners, filling out those reports carelessly. They had never once given her a proper, thorough exam.

They hadn't even realized she was carrying twins despite Forrester's state-of-the-art equipment.

It was only after the car crash, when she miscarried and was taken to a different hospital, that she finally found out...

Felipa was still sitting downstairs. Seeing that Nova was actually leaving, she rolled her eyes, convinced this was just another one of her melodramatic ploys for attention.

She wasn't going to indulge it. She cut straight to the point.

"Get out of here, the further the better. I won't have a child of the Forrester family turning out to be an uncultured, dramatic mess like you! When that baby is born, the real lady of this house will step in and raise it properly. She'll be the child's true mother."

The study was hardly soundproof, especially with the door cracked open.

From Felipa's earlier scolding to her current harsh words, Tristan could undoubtedly hear every syllable. Yet, he remained utterly indifferent.

Nova didn't say another word. None of it mattered anymore. She gripped her suitcase and walked out the door.

She would never set foot in this place again.

She didn't belong in their world.

Upstairs in the master bedroom, Tristan stood in front of his closet.

In the past, Nova used to hand-wash and meticulously iron all of his clothes.

Over time, the clothes she maintained always felt more comfortable than the ones handled by the staff. Even though he rarely came home, his personal assistant always brought his laundry here for her to wash by hand.
