She turned back around, staring straight at the back of Soren's head. "It's late June. Organic Honeyglow Pluots are in season right now. Could you order some for me? Check if there are any discount codes, and get a couple pounds of the premium ones."
"Just find the link and send it to me, Ms. Sewell," Soren replied smoothly.
"I lost my phone." Normally, she could never justify spending money on ridiculously expensive fruit like that.
But lately, with so much good news dropping all at once, her mood had genuinely improved just a fraction.
"Once we arrive, I'll have a replacement phone procured for you. You can place the order yourself."
"Just get me a used one. Don't spend more than fifty dollars."
Soren drove the rest of the way in silence.
When she arrived back at the Meridian Villa, Yvonne Quinn was standing in the foyer, dressed in a crisp uniform, hands clasped neatly in front of her. She bowed deeply.
"Welcome home, Ms. Sewell. Lunch is already prepared. Would you prefer to rest first, or eat right away?"
As Ottilie stepped up into the house, the corners of her lips curled up, a genuine smile reaching all the way to her eyes.
Her beauty was like a slow, quiet rain.
It wasn't aggressively sharp, but mesmerizing without trying too hard, radiating a captivating pull.
Even Yvonne found herself staring blankly for a split second.
"I'll eat now."
Ottilie walked in and washed her hands.
Her first meal back consisted of steamed sea bass, braised yellow croaker, lobster, a rich seafood bisque, and a vibrant array of organic vegetables.
Riding the high of her good mood, she ate a massive portion.
Afterward, she was even in the mood for some tea.
Yvonne knelt gracefully beside the coffee table, brewing the tea with such quiet reverence she practically blended into the background.
Soren was incredibly efficient. Within an hour, he had someone deliver the exact phone she requested.
It cost exactly fifty dollars, complete with a receipt.
He had even handled replacing her SIM card.
She popped the card in and started downloading a few essential apps. Before she could adjust her notification settings, a breaking news alert flashed across her screen.
