Phoenix shared the same thought. The situation before them was crystal clear—Milo and his group were firmly blocked by Mavis, unable to take a single step closer to the ward.

Even if they went over now, it would only make the scene more chaotic.

"Mavis, get out of the way," Milo said coldly, his face livid. "I've brought the Azure Healer. Grandpa will recover soon, and he absolutely doesn't need a kidney transplant."

Mavis glanced at the elderly man in the tunic suit, swept her gaze over Julian and Phoebe, and finally landed her eyes on Milo. "Milo, I'm sorry. Marcus gave orders that no one is allowed near Grandpa, especially people of questionable origins."

"Who are you calling questionable?" Julian frowned, taking a step forward with an imposing aura. "I am the Executive Vice President of Prescott Group, Julian Prescott, and this is Phoebe."

He pointed to the elderly man beside him, speaking with arrogance. "And this gentleman is the Azure Healer, whom Phoebe went to great lengths to invite here."

The Prescott family?

Mavis raised an eyebrow. Although the Prescott family wasn't as dominant as before, their foundation was still solid and not to be underestimated.

"So it's Julian and Phoebe, a pleasure to meet you." She put on a polite smile. Her tone was gentle, yet it carried a hint of toughness. "However, Marcus gave strict orders, making this very difficult for me. Please go back, and don't make things hard for me."

"Mavis, stop pretending," Milo yelled, his anger boiling over. "I know exactly what Marcus is planning. He's just afraid that I'll wake Grandpa up and threaten his position as the primary heir. But let me tell you, I couldn't care less about that position. I just want Grandpa to wake up."

"If you still care about him, move aside immediately and don't delay his treatment."

"Mavis, we are all the younger generation, and we all hope for our elders' good health," Phoebe said softly, looking pitiful. "I believe you are a reasonable person and wouldn't joke around with Gideon's life, right?"

Mavis's pupils constricted slightly. The way Phoebe spoke, and that innocent act of hers, sounded awfully familiar.

She sighed softly, feigning helplessness. "Of course, I want Grandpa to wake up too. But Marcus said there's no other way besides a kidney transplant. If we rashly try other methods, it will only worsen his condition, or even... make it irreversible."

"I can't afford to take that risk."

Julian's expression darkened. He thought he could walk right in using the healer's name, but he didn't expect Mavis to be so stubborn.

He immediately shot a glance at the elderly man beside him.

The man understood instantly. He took a step forward, lifted his chin slightly, and stroked his beard. "I have practiced medicine for decades and saved countless lives. The world honors me as a healer. I have reviewed Gideon's medical records, and he can be cured."

She took a deep breath, forcing down the trembling in her heart, took out her phone, and dialed the long-forgotten number.

Listening to the ringing tone, her heart pounded violently against her chest.

Until the call connected, and a deep, authoritative male voice rang out.

"Meredith?"

His voice was mixed with a hint of surprise and obvious confusion, as if he never thought the daughter he had sent to prison would ever contact him again.

Meredith gripped her phone tightly, her knuckles turning white. She glanced at Phoenix and Cyrus beside her, drawing courage from them, and said solemnly, "Milo brought the Azure Healer to treat Grandpa, but Mavis is blocking the door and won't let anyone in."

After she finished, she hung up directly without giving him any chance to respond.

"Phoenix... am I useless?" Meredith looked at her trembling hands, a bitter smile tugging at her lips. "It's been so many years, but I... I still can't face that man calmly."
