"Phoebe..." Julian's voice softened significantly as he reached out and gently squeezed her hand. "Ever since that ungrateful bitch got out, she's done nothing but turn our home into a warzone and make you suffer."

"This time, no matter what it takes, I am going to win this back for you."

"Julian, you're so good to me."

Phoebe pulled Julian into a tight, emotional hug before pulling back, her expression brimming with absolute resolve. "I promise I will secure these projects. I won't let you or Dad down."

Julian nodded firmly, then instructed Clarence to accompany Phoebe and assist her during the meeting.

Secretary Ann, tasked with hosting them, felt a wave of sheer terror crashing over her as she stood in the suffocating presence of their combined auras.

The heavy oak doors swung open.

Phoebe strolled into the room, her chin held high and her posture rigid, trying her hardest to project an air of unshakeable corporate authority that demanded respect.

Clarence Vance trailed closely behind her, playing the role of the dutiful subordinate to perfection.

"Good morning, I am Phoebe Prescott. I will be taking point on our partnership negotiations today," Phoebe said, offering a polite bow as she delivered her brief introduction.

But both Macy and Quentin sat in absolute, dead silence, not even bothering to lift their eyes to acknowledge her presence.

The confident, professional smile Phoebe had plastered on her face instantly shattered, but she forced herself to repeat her greeting. "It is a tremendous honor to have both of you here today, bringing such monumental opportunities to Prescott Group."

"To demonstrate our absolute sincerity in these negotiations..."

Macy frowned, her voice dripping with irritation. "What are you babbling about? You're just a foster daughter. Do you really think you're qualified to sit at a table with us?"

Phoebe's pupils instantly constricted, her hands clenching into tight fists at her sides. How dare Macy openly drag her name through the mud like this?

Yet, despite his elegant and refined appearance, his tongue was devastatingly venomous. The sheer disrespect was so severe that Phoebe felt her carefully constructed smile physically cracking under the pressure.

Sensing the situation rapidly deteriorating, Clarence immediately stepped in to play peacemaker.

"My deepest apologies for the misunderstanding. Please give us just a moment to consult with Mr. Julian," Clarence said quickly, physically pulling Phoebe out of the reception room and into the hallway.

"They are doing this entirely on purpose!!"

The second the doors closed behind them, Phoebe exploded with rage. "Phoenix is nothing but an uneducated, country bumpkin ex-con! Why the hell are they treating her like she's royalty?!"

"Please calm down, Phoebe. Let's go speak with Mr. Julian and figure out our next move," Clarence said, desperately trying to soothe her. He knew perfectly well that these titans were here explicitly to back Phoenix, but he didn't dare say it out loud.

All he could do was toss the live grenade directly into Julian's lap.

Taking a deep breath to forcefully shove her emotions down, Phoebe followed Clarence into Julian's office.

"What?! They explicitly demanded Phoenix to handle the negotiations?" Julian scowled deeply. "These projects are worth billions of dollars! Why on earth would we hand them over to a useless piece of trash?"

Phoebe's eyes brimmed with tears. "Julian, maybe... maybe we should just let her do it. Phoenix must have paid an... unimaginable price to secure these deals. Even though it's going to spark disgusting rumors once people find out... for the sake of the company's growth, I... I can let her have them."
