Most of the beastmen soldiers had fought in arena battles before. The majority of their psionic forms were level 2 or level 3.

They cut down crimson hides without mercy.

One solid punch took down each parasite, and tearing them apart was as easy as ripping a bedsheet. Flesh split open with sharp, tearing sounds.

Thatcher screamed in a rage, burning with the urge to tear Merrick’s flesh to pieces. “Merrick, you fucking…”

Thick thorny roots jammed straight into his open mouth, cutting off every curse before he could speak it.

Merrick kept his tone calm and flat, yet his words cut deep, tearing Thatcher’s heart apart. “Don’t get ahead of yourself. There’s more coming. The scaled parasites also have psionic forms, right? My soldiers can use this chance to level up their psionic forms.”

Thatcher was left seething with rage, barely able to form coherent words.

The 9th Legion beastmen, on the other hand, were overjoyed. Every man tensed up, eager to raise the rank of their psionic forms.

Thatcher mumbled through his gag, “You will all die miserable deaths.”

His words came out muffled, and no one paid him any mind.

Ten minutes slipped by quickly.

Wave after wave of scaled parasites marched into the base to enjoy their planned feast.

They caught the scent of beastmen who stood completely still and pounced eagerly.

Everything blurred in the next heartbeat.

Hundreds of beastmen sprang into motion. To these simple-minded bugs, prey looked the same whether it moved or stayed still.

The scaled parasites did not sense anything wrong, even when their targets shifted. They bared their fangs and lunged forward, ready to bite.

One punch shattered each attacker into pieces.

A beastman shouted, “Quit crowding me! That one is mine.”

Another soldier argued, “Since when is it yours? I haven’t gotten a single kill yet.”

A third man laughed, “You seasoned fighters leave a few targets for the younger troops, will you?”

Thatcher watched helplessly. First, every crimson hide hiding within the legion got wiped out completely.

Then, countless low-level parasites were slaughtered inside the arena.

Merrick wore a cold, mocking smile. “Can’t see clearly? Let me help you out.”

He pulled up the arena leaderboard right in front of Thatcher’s

eyes.

Rows of kill counts kept climbing higher and higher.

Merrick pointed at the top rank and praised casually, “Look at these glowing red numbers. This soldier moves fast enough to take down over a hundred enemies. He hasn’t shamed my legion.”

“You maniacs! You animals!” Thatcher snapped completely. He could only spit out furious curses with no way to fight back.

His endless ranting grew annoying to everyone nearby.

Merrick’s voice turned sharp. “You call us maniacs? What about all the legion beastmen you hunted for food? You bloodthirsty monsters wiped out entire clans all across Wasteland City. You are the ones who deserve to die!”

The black griffin’s eyes blazed bright. These bloodsucking parasites had latched onto their people for far too long, and he would exterminate every last one.

Thatcher tried to shout another threat. Merrick ordered the flower beasts to shatter his jaw, so he could no longer make clear sentences.

Only broken, whimpering cries escaped his lips.

Merrick stared at the broken man without an ounce of sympathy. “I let you live long enough to taste total despair. Listening to your whimpers has grown tedious. Keeping you alive any longer would dishonor our fallen clansmen.”

He issued a cold order. “Flora Squad, tear him apart. Avenge your slain kin.”

Rose vines sprouted long thorns, peony roots grew thick and powerful, and the flower beasts holding Thatcher each grabbed a chunk of his psionic form.

He was ripped into pieces in an instant.
