Chapter 301 You’re the Master

Chapter 301 You’re the Master

Elara said flatly, “I’ve signed it, Maddox.”

:

Maddox stored the signed IOU away and wore a completely indifferent expression.

Elara did not get upset at all. She stood up and walked over to Gillian’s side.

Gillian looked at Elara with clear worry in her eyes. “Elara? Are you two alright?”

Elara dropped the dejected look she had worn in front of Maddox and smiled, “I’m fine, Gillian. Actually, I came out ahead.”

Anything Maddox keeps on his person is life-saving gear, worth far more than 15 billion coins.

I only got away with cleaning out his emergency stock because we share a core bond.

He will never let this slide, and one of us will end up locked inside that metal coffin sooner or later.

No matter how you count it, I’ve won this round.

Elara added calmly, “Gillian, always keep your eyes fixed on the road ahead.”

Seeing how relaxed Elara was, Gillian held back her questions. No outsider could step into the tangled mess between Elara and Maddox.

The tense mood faded quickly.

Leila reached their destination soon after. Following the corrected coordinates, the group climbed into a vast underground cavern.

The sight inside made Elara and Maddox both tense up.

Elara warned sharply, “Gillian, stay alert. Even the cheapest ore in this cave is mithril.”

The cavern stretched extremely wide. The veins running through the rock alone were priceless. Many minerals here were extremely rare, even deep inside the Stellar Ore Black Hole.

Yet they lay scattered carelessly across the ground, covered in thick dust.

Gillian craned her neck toward the bend in the cave. Beyond the piles of ore, she spotted something further ahead.

She said, “Elara, look over there. Is that a large pool?”

Elara tilted her head and caught a partial glimpse. It was indeed a huge pool of water.

The path ahead was covered in jagged mineral deposits. The flower beast’s root tendrils were not suited for navigating such rough terrain.

Many of these oddly shaped stones held hidden poison. Some could forge silent weapons that kill without a trace.

Elara explained, “The flower beasts cannot tell these ores apart. If they accidentally crush one toxic vein, the flower beasts will suffer critical wounds, and we will all be trapped down here to die.”

Gillian had not expected the rocks themselves to be so deadly. The lily of the valley bloom was packed full of supplies, and its large body could not squeeze safely through the rocky passage.

She felt immensely grateful that Elara and Maddox had come along; the trip would have been far too dangerous without them.

Gillian asked, “Should we go on foot? You know these minerals, right?”

She could only count on Elara for guidance now.

Elara turned toward Maddox with a playful glance. “What do you think, Maddox? When it comes to ore hunting, you’re the master.”

Maddox had already studied the area carefully. Several veins within plain sight were far too dangerous to touch.

Pointing out every single one would waste precious time. Maddox gave a short order. “Leave Leila here. Follow closely behind me.”

He leaped straight out of the bloom without hesitation and shifted into his cyan griffin form. He shook his massive head and nodded toward Elara.

Maddox said, “Climb on.”

Elara’s mission was progressing exactly as she planned. She jumped easily onto the cyan griffin’s back and waved Gillian forward.

She called, “Gillian, hurry up.”

Gillian picked up Lily. “Leila, you and Ruby stay here and keep watch. Be careful.”
